DocSwift is a document scanner and PDF tool that works on your phone. This page explains what happens to your information.

Your scans

Pages you scan or import, and every PDF, stay in the app’s private storage on your phone. Cropping, colour, text reading and PDF making all happen on your phone. We run no server that your documents could be sent to. Deleting a scan removes its files; uninstalling the app removes all of them.

Camera and photos

The camera is used only while you are scanning. On Android the scanner is provided by Google Play services and runs on your phone. Your photos are opened only when you choose pictures to import, and pages are added to Photos only when you ask.

Account (optional)

You never need an account to use DocSwift. If you buy Pro you can create one with your email and a password, so your purchase follows you to a new phone. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we keep only your email address and an account number. Your password is sent only to that service and is never stored on your phone. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

Purchases

Payments are handled by the App Store or Google Play; we never see your card. RevenueCat keeps a record of whether your account has Pro.

Ads (free version)

The free version shows an ad after some exports, and an optional ad if you choose to watch one to use a Pro tool. Ads come from Google AdMob and are non-personalised: they are not based on your activity, and we do not ask to track you. AdMob receives basic device information, such as device type, approximate region and an advertising identifier, to deliver and measure ads. Your documents are never shared with it. Pro removes all ads.

Google Drive backup (optional)

If you connect Google Drive, you sign in on Google’s own screen; DocSwift never sees your Google password. Backups go straight from your phone into a folder called “DocSwift Backups” in your own Drive. We have no server in between and cannot see them. DocSwift asks for the narrowest Drive permission there is: it can see only the files it made itself, and nothing else in your Drive. We use this access only to save, list, fetch and tidy your backups. You can disconnect in Settings at any time, delete the backups in Google Drive yourself, and remove DocSwift’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. DocSwift’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Sharing

A file leaves your phone only when you share or save it. Where it goes is your choice, and that app’s own privacy policy then applies.

Children

DocSwift is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date.
